Practicing Patience

There are times in our lives where we must practice patience. If it’s waiting in line or on your spouse. It requires that you wait an unknown amount of time and be rewarded with an outcome. It helps because it teaches us all to not have an undeserved sense of entitlement, or be impatient. Practicing patience can be a great way to delay gratification for a desired effect. The desired effect may be to quit smoking, lose weight, or learn a new skill. It’s important to keep in mind things don’t happen overnight.

When we practice our patience, it’s important to have grace for ourselves as well as compassion. Sometimes we may have more compassion for others, and none for ourselves. We can be harder on ourselves at times and have more compassion for a complete stranger. It’s important as humans and individuals that we do not rush things. It can be compared to making a meal or baking a cake. If you don’t allow it to cook the proper amount of time then it won’t come out right.

I encourage anyone who is reading this blog to practice having patience for yourself, and allow yourself to make mistakes and get better at being your best self. After all, its not someone else who is occupying your body. It’s going to be the person renting out the body for their lifetime. As always, I want to thank the readers who took the time to stop by and read my blog. I really appreciate all the readers. Peace and blessings.

Success

When I look over the past year of my life I have to ask myself have I gotten further, or am I at the same point where I was this time before. I have to say yes I am further along. It feels great to be in a different place from where I was last year. For one, I chose to stop smoking. It was not good for my overall health. I knew I had to make a change and give up my vice. I did it by slowly preparing myself, holding myself accountable by telling others I was going to quit. I also googled my brain by asking, what does it look like if I quit smoking?”

I told people in my life I was going to quit so I had no choice but to be a person of my word. I really wanted to with the pandemic. I decided it was the best thing to do for my lung,s body, and overall health. It became easier to stomach when I started to think about all the money I’d spent buying nd smoking supplies and how I could use the money to do other things that were beneficial in my life. From the time I decided to stop smoking, and actually stopped was 9 months. I stopped. I had to give myself a pat on the back and some grace for actually taking the steps and going through with it.

I don’t know who this helped or resonated with today, but I hope it helps in some small way. I want to thank whomever has stopped by to read my blog. Its been 1 year since I started my blog. The money I used to pay for smoking I have put it into something more fulfilling than puffing. Thanks for reading.
